Alienated Children First (ACF) are delighted to have for their 8th in our series of public webinar s- guest speaker Family Psychotherapist, Karen Woodall is a psychotherapist, researcher, and High Court expert witness in conversation with ACF spokesperson.
Karen’s blog about alienation is widely read around the world by parents and professionals and her books for parents, which are co-written with her husband Nick Woodall, (also a psychotherapist), have been translated into several different languages. Together with Nick and colleagues in Europe and the USA, Karen has founded the International Academy of Practice with Alienated Children (IAPAC), a group of highly experienced clinicians from several countries, who are working together to develop evidence-based models of practice with families affected by alienation. IAPAC holds its online and face to face) multi-disciplinary conference entitled Reunification and Recovery, in Israel in June 2022 and will also launch the first journal of clinical practice in this field this year. Karen’s major interest is in the experience of alienation of self from self and the underlying psychological dynamics which cause this problem. Her research at Regents University in London is focused upon the experience of rejection of parents and the impact in adulthood and she currently has two books in preparation, a third with Nick Woodall which is focused upon clinical practice and a handbook of therapeutic parenting which she is writing to accompany a parenting course for rejected parents called ‘Holding up a Healthy Mirror.’

Kenn Joyce who will be compering and asking your questions, is a founder member of Alienated Children First which campaigns against all forms of child and domestic abuse and specifically against Parental Alienation Abuse.
